DGFT News And NotificationsNo Comments

The commerce ministry, on Saturday, made a revision in the conditions of the protocol for the import of toys into the country. The ministry told that they will allow the inbound shipments of the product freely inside when the consignment is supplemented with certain types of safety certificates.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), in a notification, yesterday announced that the “import of toys shall be permitted freely when accompanied” by certain certificates. These are certificates that will show that the items being shipped in are conforming to the prescribed standards that have been given by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Also, the DGFT said that another certificate that will be required would be a certificate from the manufacturer that states the representative sample of the toys being shipped in have been thoroughly examined and have been +o-confirmed for the quality. This check should have been done by an independent laboratory which has been authorized by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
